Thanks for looking at my website and wanting to know more about me.

I live in the hottest, swampiest,  most beautiful city in the world, Savannah Georgia.

I love making quirky absurd artwork that makes people smile.

Duncan makes whimsical artwork from vintage fabrics and found objects. The adorable characters and vibrant scenes stitched in traditional techniques are usually juxtaposed against the laser-cut edges of new technology. This creates a wonderful border between our world and her countless patterns. The soft texture of the image allows an escape from everyday harshness and the thought that these fabrics have been used and lived with before evokes a welcoming familiarity. Often a viewer may recount the sweet memory of their grandmother’s sheets, which is the perfect metaphor for the warmth Duncan’s images have, they are just like an enchanting story before bedtime.

I spend my daylight hours wrangling my young son, and teaching kids to sew. At night, I create.

I have always had the heart of a maker. My passion for art began at an early age and continued through my undergraduate pursuits at the University of Montevallo in Alabama where I received her BFA in Ceramics and Painting. Then went on to earn my MFA in Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design. My artwork can be found in galleries, craft shows, in a few books, and a super fun-packed episode of HGTV's "That's Clever".
